 I'm Charlene, your detail-oriented crafty travel specialist!

I began my entrepreneur journey in 2016 with "Nikki's Handmade Items".
 I had went by Nikki up until I was told that I had to pursue a career in retail after my daughter was born. Then I began to go by my first name that I had hated since I was a child, Charlene.
 
I ended up becoming a manager at Dollar General within a year of working there. Don't get me wrong, I loved being a manger of my own store and training my own team. What I hated was working 80+ hours a week and only being paid for 40 hours (being on salary). It didn't matter what I had accomplished for their store, I wasn't able to spend as much time with children as I was promised. I began to grow tired of being away from my children for so many hours out of the day, just to keep a roof over their heads!

Then I realized that my daughter was showing interest in making creations to sell. So, in October of 2023, when I became a Certified Travel Specialist, we sat down and began discussing names for OUR business. We decided to combine our crafts with travel and came up with Crafty Creations & Travel.

Fast-track to today and I'm so glad that we chose this path! I work from home, homeschool my wonderful children, and DON'T have to worry about unnecessary expenses (like childcare). My children have been able to learn some history while homeschooling and traveling! We took them to New Orleans, LA and Tiger Point, Florida over Mother's Day in 20 24. Then, me and my daughter took and educational trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over Father's Day in 2024! All while selling our creations in those locations!

I never thought I would love being an entrepreneur as much as I do. My daughter becoming an entrepreneur herself is a bonus!
